On Wednesday 13th November, the Friends of Iver Heath Fields joined up with The Chiltern Rangers and young volunteers from Langley Academy to continue the management programme for the fields.
A lot was achieved in one morning including clearing a frequently used pathway of brambles and weeds as well as opening up a wooded area to encourage wildlife, new growth and minimise potential anti-social behaviour.
The good news is that this type of work will be ongoing on various areas of the fields for the foreseeable future. Iver Heath Fields have now been removed from the Chiltern & South Bucks Local Plan as an option for being an area for removal from the Green Belt, so this type of work is great for ensuring that the fields can be enjoyed as a valuable recreational space.
